One man is able to overcome his obstacles. Life seems to be his to command. He can make a plan, stick to it, and accomplish his goals. He is enthusiastic, energetic, outgoing. He is accomplished, intelligent, and wise. He has life under his control. He sees problems as something that only require a solution, and he has plenty of those. His biggest problem becomes which solution does he want to use.

The next man cannot get out of bed in the morning, fearing what the day may bring. He is uncertain of what will come his way and whether or not he will be able to face it. He cannot bring himself to plan for anything anymore, because plans never work out anyway. He has long since given up on his goals, and even forgotten what they may once have been. Life kicks him when he is down, and keeps kicking him, over and over and over. Problems come at him from all angles all the time, there are no solutions to any of his problems. There is no hope.

These two men represent the life force of the spiritual being. The first man we described is has abundant life force available to him which is not in a state of turmoil. He can create and he can still "play at the game of life" and win. The second man has so little life force that is not in a constant state of turmoil available to him that he can barely function anymore.

The fascinating thing about these two spiritual beings is that they could at any time have a complete role reversal. Something could happen to our first man that is so traumatic that he may for a while experience such extreme turmoil he can (if only temporarily) lose that spirit of life and his ability to command it. He may feel for a while like there is no sense in going on, or that his problems are after all, insurmountable.

Conversely, something so wonderful could happen for our spiritual being in turmoil that for a while he has a vast amount of his life force go out of a state of turmoil and is able to play at the game of life, even if only for a little while.

The question becomes why is the life force of a spiritual being susceptible to turmoil or the absence of it? The answer is because it is the emotions, realities and even communications that are the food of the soul. A spiritual being thrives off positive emotions and he suffers from negative emotions. Realities of the planet are often harsh and suck some of the life away from him for awhile: war, famine, flood, disaster they are all harsh realities that can beat the life force of the being hard and cause him to feel that there is little he can do. Communications and emotions of others can help to uplift him or bring him down.

The more the turmoil grows for the being, the more he is susceptible to the law of attraction - turmoil attracts turmoil. Take a man who is greatly distressed and put him in a calm and loving environment, where people exert random acts of kindness toward him and watch his turmoil begin to dissipate. Watch his life force begin to attract more random acts of kindness.

Take a man who is in a positive state, a man who has life by the horns, and put him in an environment of strife, anger, antagonism, overwhelming odds and watch his life force begin to attract more turmoil, watch him begin to have more and more insurmountable problems that he cannot overcome. Watch the spark that once sparkled in his eyes first begin to fade, then dim out completely.

A man, woman, a child - they are all spiritual beings. Their food for the soul, their healing and their happiness all come from affinities, realities, and communications. Feed them poison and watch them wilt on the vine. Feed them nectar and watch them become all and everything they ever dreamed possible.

The next time you feel the need to criticize, scoff or reach out in vengeance against another remember that you are feeding that one you probably love a poison more deadly than anything you could feed to a body.

Instead, turn your criticism, anger, or hate into love, tolerance and patience. Give them a smile and a kind word, let them know they are loved. You will be giving them the nectar of life itself.
