The only difference between meditating to be present and just being present is the time we spend meditating. There is nothing wrong with meditating until it becomes its own distraction.

The single biggest problem in spiritual development is the overabundance of different metaphor systems via different religious and spiritual traditions, different psychological models, different healing processes, different cosmologies, etc. And many, many modern teachers compound
the problem by shoving them all together as if they actually all mean the same thing. Sorry to break it to you, but they don't.
