'No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit.' (Helen Keller) Creative, sensitive, humorous, practical, kind, loyal, gentle and above all, romantic - these are some of the adjectives I would choose to describe myself. I am a designer and a writer. I have a fulfilling social life but would love to have an intimate relationship with someone on a similar wavelength. I have been on a spiritual quest for as long as I can remember, my main influences being Buddhism, Indian mysticism, Zen and Osho. I was a member of the Findhorn Community and have lived in many different spiritual communities. The teachers who interest me at the moment are Eckhart Tolle, Leonard Jacobson, Pamela Wilson and Candice O'Denver. I enjoy walking, cycling, tennis, good movies, cooking and eating out as well as sharing poetry, story-telling and having fun. I sing with a sacred singing group (the highlight of my week!) and dance the Dances of Universal Peace whenever I can. My wife died from cancer about four and a half years ago so I am familiar with suffering and grief. I came to recognize the infinite preciousness of a human life and that love is all that truly matters. I live in the beautiful Cotswolds. I'm not really looking for a long-distance relationship - probably 50 miles max. I may have turned 60 but like Zorba (my favourite literary hero), I still have a lot more living to do. And a rich experience of life and love to share! My ideal partner would be someone who resonates with the above. Somebody with a passion for life who values the richness of an intimate relationship - who is not afraid to take a risk and embrace the mystery of love.
